The majority of our focus for this year has been ensuring our merchants become EMV compliant in preparation for the October 1 liability shift. This change will affect your business.
EMV is the microchip in specific credit cards that sends transaction data to a credit card processor. These chip-enabled transactions do require a special EMV terminal, but are considered much more secure than the current magnetic stripe technology.
Not being EMV compliant puts your business at a greater risk for fraud and significantly limits your ability to fight chargebacks.
