Nopalito, the vibrant San Francisco restaurant, honors traditional Mexican cooking using local and sustainable ingredients. Chef Gonzalo Guzman and his team are on a roll! With two restaurants in the city and an enormously popular cookbook under their belt, they’ve launched a line of snacks and condiments now available at Driver’s. You no longer need to cross the bridge for Nopalito’s tortilla chips and salsa! Also look for their signature cocktail snack, Spiced Crispy Chickpeas, as well as Piquin Salsa, and Smoked Jalapeno Lime Vinaigrette. Órale!
Get your tamale fix
Karen Taylor started selling Primavera tamales at the Berkeley Farmers Market in 1992. The local farmers she met there still supply the organic produce for her now iconic tamales. Today, Primavera employes a team of 30 who bring their own expertise and regional recipes to the kitchen. Primavera produces handmade tamales and tortilla chips for almost 300 stores, and for the San Francisco Ferry Plaza farmers market where they serve a regional Mexican menu every Saturday. “Fun Fact: In Primavera’s first 17 years in business, Karen’s 17 employees had 17 children!” - CUESA.org
