Hello, Writers,

Hello, all,

I hope you're enjoying the hot summer days we've gotten so far. Hard to believe it's already August! For those submitting events, please send them now to events@bcwriters.ca where our wonderful new volunteer, Brad, can ensure they make it into relevant newsletters.

Finally, big congrats to the winner of the BC Short Contest, Chelsea Comeau, for her piece "Badlands", and to the two honourable mentions, first  KT Wagner for "Cabin Fever," and second David Reichheld for "Let Morning Bring Me."

Have you checked out our blog and member discussion forum, and listed your services in our professional directory? How about listed your book for sale in our new member book catalogue? See the bottom of the newsletter for more details!

Please enjoy the information below.

Shaleeta Harrison,
Executive Director

Member Directory. The new member directory (also called Find a Writer) is a streamlined profile system for our members. It no longer needs to be a business card (as we have a professional directory) nor does it need to sell books (as we have Launched and the Member Book Catalogue) so it now focusses on the writers themselves--who are the FBCW members? Members are welcomed to create a profile on our website, but not obligated. For more information →

These are our newest resources, but this isn't all we have to offer. Please see our member benefits page to learn more, and if you ever have trouble with your membership, check our member updates page, or contact us so we can assist

And that's all! Please let us know of any events you would like shared, and we'll do our best to keep WriteOn informative and interesting.

Enjoy your week,

Executive Director
