Hello, Writers,

Hello, all,

I'm so glad to be sending this out to you all today.

First: A reminder that our contest, The BC Short, is ending in just three days! Enter before midnight on June 1st for your chance to win!

I also realized that I hadn't yet introduced you all to our new board of directors, and I'd like to take the opportunity to do so now:
  • Ann Graham Walker, President (we're excited to have her back for her second term!)
  • Jaqueline Carmichael, Vice President
  • Janice Meeks, Treasurer
  • Adrian Giberson, Co-Secretary
  • Sheilagh Simpson, Co-Secretary
  • Alex Boldizar, Greater Vancouver Rep
  • Chris Hancock Donaldson, Islands Rep
  • Norma Kerby, North Rep
  • Keith Liggett, South East Rep
  • Barbara Drozdowich, South West Rep
  • Cynthia Sharp Director at Large
  • Emily Olsen, Director at Large
  • Doni Eve, Director at Large
  • Luanne Armstrong, Director at Large
It's a very strong team of writers and professionals, who will certainly lead us in the right direction in 2018/2019. As you are probably aware, the FBCW has a working board, and all board members are involved in a committee or project that they're enthusiastic about. If you'd like to connect with someone, please go here.

Another note: the FBCW is currently performing a SWOT analysis (this is where we think of the organization, and discuss what our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats are). We will be hosting online and in person discussions around BC to get your opinions on these matters, as this analysis will be the basis of our five-year strategic plan. We really hope to hear feedback from all of our BC writers, including tips on how we can improve.

Enjoy the information below,

Shaleeta Harrison,
Executive Director
