Looking for Board Members
Do you know someone in your congregation or organization that is interested in the care of those who serve in the ELCIC? If so, then please ask them to consider a position on the ELCIC Group Services Board.
Two directors' terms are ending in this fall and new four year terms will commence. We are searching for two energetic and knowledgeable people to fill those positions, in particular we are hoping to have a CPA or someone with a medical background join the board. Meetings are held semi-annually in Winnipeg. Anyone interested should complete a biographical data form found on our website and send it to our office.  For more information call the GSI office at 1-877-352-4247.

Making the Link: Digital Multitasking and Stress
It’s only 11:30 a.m. You’re trying to write your sermon for Sunday, schedule time to visit a church member in hospital and plan an agenda for a committee meeting. You’re working with multiple screens, reviewing documents, checking your emails for updates, doing last minute research online while participating in a teleconference with the conference area pastors. And don’t forget about  calling your council chair  and your son texting asking what time you’ll be home. You’re feeling unfocussed, exhausted, and stressed! Wasn’t technology supposed to make life easier?

Remember how you played as a child? Did you spend a lot of time outside building forts, climbing trees, inventing new games and getting your hands dirty, without any grownups interfering? This type of play is rapidly disappearing from our world.
This year marks Canada's 150th birthday! Celebrations across the country are highlighting our great outdoors and Earth Day Canada is dedicating this year's campaign to outdoor play. At a time when most children spend less than an hour per day outside, everyone is being asked to EarthPLAY for Earth Day 2017: Connect to Your Nature!
Why does Earth Day Canada care so much, and why should you? Because kids who don't get outside, who aren't stimulated by their environment, won't grow up with any motivation to protect their environment and their planet. And kids who don't connect to their inner nature through creative play won't be as resilient as generations before them.
