Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance
Summer Solstice is upon us. At the changing of the season IPAA provides highlights of the Indigenous performance across Turtle Island.

On this first day of summer IPAA would like to express our gratitude for your commitment to the Indigenous performance community.

In the spirit of appreciation the IPAA Board of Directors have these words to share.

Message from the President of IPAA:

I was recently in the rehearsal room in Vancouver where stories were shared about the teachings of the geese.  The leader of the geese, the one at the point of the V is the one that guides the group.  The leader cuts through the wind and air current so the rest can move forward with more ease.

Moving forward.

Arriving at a new place.

There is also a time when the leader has to fall back and others must take the lead, that the work is ultimately carried by the collective.

The IPAA Board of Directors would like to acknowledge the leadership with which Yvette Nolan has provided us for over 10 years.  Yvette is moving on from the IPAA Board and we want to acknowledge her work and dedication to this organization and our community.  She has been a champion for IPAA and has worked tirelessly to move this organization forward.  She has nurtured and mentored our Directors and Coordinators building a strong foundation for our organization to continue to learn and grow.

Mahsi-cho Yvette for leading IPAA across this distance to now and instilling this organization with a keen sense of direction.
