Tawnshi, IPAA members and allies:
I am writing this to you from a small plane leaving Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) territory en route to Tkaronto.

Contact East is the first Regional Presenter Network to include a Host Nations Conversation in their annual conference. This is part of IPAA’s ongoing collaboration with CAPACOA that provides opportunities for Indigenous artists to lead a conversation about their performance practice on local land and waterways during Contact events across Turtle Island.
At the Host Nations Conversation on Wednesday, September 22nd Maliseet and Mi’kmaq Elders and artistic leaders welcomed us to the Wolastoqiyik territory where they shared stories about Indigenous performance. These conversations highlight Indigenous artistic leaders in the community while enhancing non-Indigenous Presenters' ability to safely and respectfully present Indigenous performance on their stages.
