Detroit Future City is a nonprofit think-tank focused on advancing the quality of life for all Detroiters through a land use, sustainability, and economic development lens. This year, we've worked diligently to provide resources and support to community groups in Detroit through our Working with Lots Program, Land + Water WORKS Coalition, publications, and special reports.
At DFC, we value having you in our network as a supporter and appreciate your time in following our work. This year, we launched a volunteer program for our valued network to enhance their support in our various program and administration needs.
Next month, we will begin coordinating several volunteer needs for the remainder of the year. These opportunities will include:
Supporting our Working With Lots grantees with planting perennials/trees, general garden maintenance, picking up trash and debris, pruning, etc.
Supporting our Office Administration with data entry, compiling documents, organizing material, answering phones, greeting guests.
If you are interested in learning how you can support our work through volunteering, please contact our Community Engagement Coordinator Tomicka Robinson. Many of our volunteer needs will occur during our normal business hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, however there are opportunities outside of that time frame.
We'll be hosting an orientation on Thursday, September 19th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, in our office which is located at 2990 West Grand Boulevard, Suite 2 in Detroit. If you plan on attending, please registerby Friday, September 13.
