VOLUME 46, 9 SEPTEMBER 2016
Welcome to your weekly wrap up of all things AUFC.

The Budgie Smugglers went down in a blaze of glory on Saturday with a gutsy loss to the prestigious nightclub Super California. Their performance earlier that day was not as inspiring, going down to the Henley Shards (who aren't on drugs) by four goals, played in the middle of Hurricane Katrina which seemed to only effect Uni's disposal efficiency. The only player to buck this trend was Party Parks, with 1 kick and 1 goal for the match - running at an elite 100% DE.

The AUFC finals run is still well and truly alive though, with solid finals wins going to both the women's teams and the Chardonnays looking a strong contender for another spot in the big dance. Get out and show your support tomorrow to the Chardonnays at BN#1 at 10:15am, the Office Raiders playing at Richmond Oval at 7:15pm and the Rising Stars on Sunday at Able storage Oval at 1:00pm.

Match Reports of the Week - It's a Woman's World

Match Reports courtesy of Screecher

Div 1: The Postie and her Dead Letter Office Raiders 13.13.91 defeated Smallsbury 4.1.25
Goal Kickers: Ruth Wallace (4), Stacey Richardson (4), Kristi Harvey (3), Kelly Barltrop and Fiona Clancey
Best Players: Jess Edwards, Kristi Harvey, Stacey Richardson, Julie Power, Cassie Tsoumbris and Sophie Li

After losing last week to the Toothless Hounds, a small effort this week would see The Raiders not only fall off their post bike, but also bow out of the finals for 2016. But with thanks to the huge home ground crowd on a perfect night at Bob Neil #1, The Raiders were up for the challenge, handing out a lesson to the little people of Smallsbury, and sending them back on their train ride home to Tiny Town with their hopes of Premiership glory smashed

Div 2:  Hollywood and his Rising Stars  6.5.41 defeated Alcopops Playground 5.7.37
Goal Kickers: Nicole Collie (4), Tiff Lee and Emma Alexander
Best Players: Tiff Lee, Nicole Collie, Bridget Corver, Ebony O’Dea, Gabby Mills and Suzanne Holliday

Never write-off the under-dog!!!
Alcopop’s Playground had finished 2nd at the end of the minor round, only losing top spot in the last game of the year, whereas The Stars had to settle for the final spot in the finals, shining bright in 5th at the end of the minor round. And just like the week before, The Stars shone bright, fighting for every ball like it was life or death. With 5 minutes left in the final term, all seemed lost after Alcopops Playground rounded the last bend, and pushed out in front. But The Border Collie had a bite more ferocious than her bark, kicking a goal with two minutes to go, to ice the never in doubt victory
