VOLUME 43, 19 AUGUST 2016
Welcome to your weekly wrap up of all things AUFC.

As the season draws to a close for some teams it is worth reminding ourselves why we play this marvellous game for this marvellous club - we remind ourselves every Saturday at the Havey and we remind ourselves at the Blacks Ball and at Super Sunday (25th September!!) - we play for the Blacks because no matter what else is going on in our lives there is always one constant: the AUFC is f**king loose! This Saturday will be no different.

To the C-Men, B@stards and Scum whose seasons have ended prematurely: the football gods have rewarded your efforts this year with a quadruple header this Saturday at Bob Neil 1 against Port Districts. I cannot overestimate how large this will be. I am actually nervous. Not only do us Blackers have an excuse to start drinking $4 half litres of Carslberg at 10:15am when the Chards kick things off, the party will be going all day until we stagger across the road to Bob Neil 0 for an epic Showdown. What a time to be alive.

At some stage on Saturday evening you may struggle to walk or even dial a taxi. If you think this may apply to you then please feel free to bring a swag or sleeping bag and check-in for the night at Hotel Boz. Rest your weary head in the comfortable sleeping quarters of the grandstand and at first light you will receive a personal wake-up call from Boz himself as he rouses you to start drinking all over again because on Sunday the women are playing a double header at Bob Neil 1 leading into their finals campaigns.

If you have never seen what the better halves of the AUFC are capable of then I can think of no better occasion to get out and watch what these chicks can do. Not only did the Postie and the Office Raiders win the flag last year in Div 2, this year they will be in the Div 1 finals and the Rising Stars will also be in the finals despite half of the team having never played football before. It is a testament to the club and to the hard work of all those involved that we can put women's footy on the map.

For those of you that want to support the club but don't want to drink your weight in beer this weekend (why are you playing for the Blacks??), Kenny Everett and his Video Show are playing a semi-final against Salisbury NSE&W at the Salisbury Down Sin Drome at 12:15 on Saturday. Anyone needing an armed escort out to the shadowlands is best advised to contact The Ox. Best of luck Ken, may Bob be with you.

What an absolute ripper weekend of footy we have in store.
