“I have come that you may have life, and have it abundantly,” says Jesus.

Join us this Sunday as Rev. Troy Tatum preaches a new series of sermons on receiving the life of abundance Jesus offers. We’ll wrestle with some big questions - like Who am I created to be? and What is God calling me to do? - as we seek to live more fully the lives Jesus wants for us.
May 17: New Beginnings

Are you new to First Christian? Would you like to know more?  If you're just getting started, we suggest attending a New Beginnings lunch on May 17 from 11:30-1:30. Designed especially for visitors and new members,  New Beginnings will help you learn more about the church, its ministries, and the Disciples of Christ denomination. Contact the church office to sign up or Robin Blakemore for more info.

THE ADVENTURE NOOK

Thursday, April 30 at 6:30 p.m.
We are all invited on Thursday, April 30  at 6:30 pm to come enjoy the Adventure Nook Music and Art Show. Come and celebrate the wonderful music and art from the precious little ones of The Adventure Nook.  Refreshments will be served by the TAN Support Group.

 Children's Musical on May 3
Praise Kids are excited to invite everyone to their performance of "The Big Fish" on Sunday, May 3rd after church. We will serve a wonderful lunch of lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and iced tea after our show. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids 4-11.

Parents of those performing: we will practice on the stage this Sunday evening at Praise Kids.  And on Saturday May 2, at 9:00 a.m. we will have a dress rehearsal.  Thank you all your help in preparing your kids for their performance.
In Christ,
Jan

Youth Mission Update:
A huge thanks for all of the support!
Thanks to you we surpassed our goal of $5000.00 at our Mission Dinner and Team Trivia Night! Our mission team will be  serving May 23-30 at All People’s Community Center in Los Angeles, California. We will be working in all sorts of ways as we support the work of All People’s in inner-city communities in Los Angeles: painting, sorting clothes and food, reading to children, and more. We are grateful for your continued prayers and we can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you when we return. Join us in worship on May 17 for a commissioning of the team as we prepare to serve.

*****Don't forget...that this Sunday (May 3) we will be having our end of year party. Later Tag and pizza for everyone!  We will meet at church and there is no cost for this event.

ELECTRONIC GIVING NOW AVAILABLE
We are pleased to announce that First Christian Church is introducing an electronic option for making regular offerings. Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account or processed using your credit or debit card. Our new electronic giving program offers convenience for you and much-needed donation consistency for our congregation.  Offerings can fluctuate significantly from week to week due to travel, illness and other circumstances, but when contributions are automated, the church receives funds on a steady, uninterrupted basis.

To get started, authorization forms are available in the church office, or you can set up your electronic donation on our website:
· Go to www.fcc-bhm.org/give then
· Click on the Give Now button.
· Click on the Create Profile button, then
· Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.

Thank you for considering this option for giving, and thank you for your generosity and support of the mission and ministry of First Christian Church!

Dear FCC Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for my brother, Tim Offet, over these past months.  Your care and concern meant alot to us.
Tim is in the arms of Jesus...he died on April 23.  His is no longer in pain, and we look forward to seeing him again one day.
 Love,
Sue & Bruce MacKenzie
