Keeping Students Informed of Coastline Important Resources
Coastline welcomed its new STAR program students at this informative orientation, held on Thursday, August 21st at the Newport Beach Center! Students and their families, faculty, and administrators were in attendance to kick off the 2014-15 STAR Program.
The purpose of the orientation is to provide students with the commitment from faculty to champion their education, from their first class to graduation. The Newport Beach Center is the new home for the STAR Program.
A faculty meeting was held before students and their families arrived for dinner and dessert, which was followed by a speech presented by President Dr. Lori Adrian, Dean Nancy Jones, and STAR Facilitator, Karen McLucas. The general session took place after the welcome address, where faculty members took time to meet with students and their families in breakout rooms by major so students had the opportunity to spend time with the instructors who are teaching in their major. Later in the evening, students attended a short training session on the navigation of the Coastline website and Seaport.
The STAR Program is managed by Dean Nancy Jones, and the STAR Facilitator, Karen McLucas.
