WE ARE GROWING
ENROLLMENT INCREASES AT COASTLINE IN 2017-18
DEGREES & CERTIFICATES AWARDED INCREASES
In 2017-18 Coastline served a total of 26,434 students. These students accounted for more than 70,823 enrollments.

Coastline remains the only college in the district to grow state funded enrollments (by almost 4%).
Overall course success increased from 70.1% in 2015-16 to 70.7% in 2016-17. Overall retention was 85.8%. State funded degrees and certificates increased almost 20% since 2014-15.

Coastline saw 2,434 transfers to four-year institutions in 2016-17.

Did you know that Coastline College is a top front-runner of the 1700 community colleges nationwide and is one of the top-performing community colleges out of the 114 community colleges in California? The following are some of the recent accolades that Coastline College has received:
 
  • The past 8 years, Coastline College has been selected as one of the top 150 colleges by The Aspen Institute for Community College Excellence which is considered the most nationally prestigious prize for community colleges.  
 
  • In 2018, Coastline College is ranked #4 by Value Colleges in terms of value and affordability, reputation, return on investment, and the #1 top leader in online education on this list. 
 
  • Coastline College is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense for Two-Year Colleges by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security.
 
  • In 2018 voted #2 of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges by Diverse Magazine.

  • That students who earn a degree or certificate from a California community college nearly double their earning within three years and Californians with a college degree will earn $400,000 more in their lifetime than their peers with only a high school diploma.
 
  • Did you know that 29% of University of California and 51% of California State graduates started at a California community college?
 
  • With more than 2.1 million students at 114 campuses, the California community colleges is the largest system of higher education in the US.
 
  • That nearly 42% of all California Veterans receiving GI Bill education benefits attend a California community college for workforce training to earn an associate degree or work towards transferring to a four-year university.
