This publication has been developed to share Coastline news and events. We welcome submissions by faculty and staff.

The President’s Bulletin is produced in collaboration with Dr. Loretta P. Adrian, President and Coastline’s Marketing and Public Relations Department.

ICare Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign 

 
Faculty, Staff, and Managers showing pride in Coastline by contributing to the ICare Giving Campaign between
September 19th-December 19th

Highlights:
  • Launched on September 19th
  • Total of 60 Participants signed up on launch day, contributing $29,540
  • As of October 6th, a total of 102 participants have contributed to campaign totaling $37,250.
  • Stats:

    • 35 Faculty
    • 48 Staff Members

Welcome To The Team !

Welcome our new Unit Coordinator, Araba Mensah. 

Araba began her career in higher education twelve years ago, at Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles.  She counseled transfer students and assisted with the application review process for three nursing programs. Araba joined Coastline’s Military Education department six years ago and has also worked on District-wide initiatives, including being a member of the Degreeworks launch and scribe team. 
 
Araba has a commitment to providing a quality educational experience for students. She also has an appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice of service members, and their families. 

Welcome our new Graduation Specialist, Diana Agag-Maxwell. 

Diana has been working with the college for ten and a half years. She began as an hourly employee with the Orange County One-Stop Center in Costa Mesa. Shortly after, she became a full-time Workforce Specialist at the Orange County One-Stop Centers in Westminster and Irvine. Her experience includes outreach, recruitment, auditing, job placement assistance and case management functions for the Workforce Investment Act activities.

Diana then transferred to the Military/Contract Education Programs as a Military/Contract Education Technician Intermediate in the Admissions & Registration Operations unit.

Student Success Center Recognizes Daniel Pittaway


Student Success Coordinator, Daniel Pittaway was recently appointed by the California Community Colleges Success Network (3CSN) as the Regional Coordinator for the Orange County Learning Network!

He is tasked with building and sustaining a professional learning hub of colleagues from community colleges within Orange County. 3CSN supports a full calendar of professional learning events that are local, regional, and statewide.

Veteran's Resource Center Representative, Tom Boscamp Recognizes Coastline in Homeland Magazine!


Tom Boscamp, Coastline Veteran's Resource Center Representative and U.S. Army Veteran wrote an article that has been published in the October 2014 issue of Homeland Magazine. In the article, Tom addresses his journey to Coastline, becoming part of the Veteran's Resource Center, and the difference that Coastline has made in his life.

College Council Meeting Minute Highlights

  • Plans to improve communication with constituencies
    • More transparency
    • Assigning accountability
  • The use of Coastline flat screen TVs in lobbies (all centers)
    • Promote more college activities and events
    • ASG section on screen with videos and information
  • Standing reports on PIEAC, Student Success, and College Budget(s)
  • Follow-up action plan for Vice Presidents: They will create All College Meeting action plans for their departments
  • Goals for College Council to be set at next meeting: October 14th
  • All College Meeting survey to be distributed by Monday, September 29th to all Coastline Faculty, Staff, and Management
  • Committee List updates: to finalize approved changes
  • Coastline Committees’ co-chairs are to start providing 5 minute re-caps of their meetings

9th Annual ABI Walk  


               Coastline Community College Acquired Brain Injury Program invites us to join their annual walk for brain injury awareness. 

Registration: $25 per walker (includes: breakfast & an event t-shirt)

When: October 11th
Where: Huntington Central Park
