Coastline's Classified Senate presents the 9th Annual Holiday Boutique, Friday December 9th at the College Center from 11:00 am until 3pm!
To reserve your spot, there will be a fee of $15 per table and payment must be submitted by November 28th by 5:00 pm to guarantee a spot! Crafters of all varieties are needed! Please specify what you are selling and what you will be donating for the opportunity drawing at the time of reservation.
Coastline's Associated Student Government (ASG), in partnership with the OC League of Women Voters and OC League of United Latin American Citizens, hosted a special event at the Garden Grove Campus to educate voters prior to the 2016 Election, on Thursday, October 20th. The event was designed to introduce candidates running for office as well as the ballot initiatives to the students of Coastline. The event kicked off with an introduction and warm welcome to students and community attendees, by Ross Miyashiro, Vice President Of Student Services.
A brief review of the key California Ballot Initiatives was given, and the OC League of Women Voters provided an excellent overview of the voting process, encouraging more engagement from students and the community. Food and drinks were provided to all attendees at this first-time event.

Introducing the Coastline Chronicle Of Institutional Effectiveness!
The premier edition of the Coastline Chronicle of Institutional Effectiveness
(CCIE) newsletter was released to all employees last week and will be released each fall and spring semester to build awareness of institutional performance. It has been written and designed to help facilitate dialog around the key performance indicators (KPIs) at Coastline. Each issue will focus on one of the college's goals.
The Coastline Department of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning’s charge is to support the planning and decision-making efforts throughout the college by providing data and information for managing and maintaining the quality and effectiveness of academic programs, academic and student support services, and administrative services all while encouraging continuous improvement of academic programs and services.
The college accepted the 2016-2020 Educational Master Plan. It has been vetted by the college and approved by PIEAC.
Accreditation standards teams are currently being established.
The 2016-17 Program and Department Reviews have been completed and are now available online.
The 2017-2018 Program and Department Review templates will be available in November 2016. A training schedule for PDR will be released soon.
The Institutional Effectiveness webpage has been upgraded. Additions include interactive data dash- boards on topics such as transfer, course success, retention, degree and certificate attainment, enroll- ment, FTES, and demographics.

Coastline ASG Hosts Annual Movie Night!
ASG HOSTS HALLOWEEN-THEMED MOVIE NIGHT
On Friday, October 28, 2016 Coastline's Associated Student Government hosted the Fall Movie Night featuring Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas. The event was held at the Newport Beach Center and brought in students, staff, and members of the community. ASG provided snacks, freshly popped popcorn and drinks, free to all who attended.
After the movie, students participated in a drawing for special prizes and giveaways. Many left that night with special gifts, courtesy of ASG. Everyone enjoyed the movie and complimented the students for putting on an excellent event.
Movie Night is one of ASG’s most well-known events. Be on the lookout for the next Movie Night announcement! ASG will be announcing a date in February, stay tuned!
EOPS Toy Drive
The Coastline EOPS staff would like to thank everyone who contributed to this years Toy Drive! Because of the generous amount of donations received, the college will be able to provide over 100 children with a toy for the holidays! All Staff and Faculty are welcome to stop by the holiday event on December 1st, 2016 from 2:30 to 5:00 pmheld, in the 4th floor conference room.
Congratulations to the Distance Learning Department for winning the toy drive contest and a pizza party for their office!
