Individuals, families and the wider community are harmed when violent crimes occur.

We help rebuild lives by providing trauma informed strategies and ongoing support.

With a focus on validation, empowerment and post traumatic growth, the outcomes our clients experience are life changing.
In March, VOCAL had a consultation with NSW Law Reform Commission to discuss improving protections for vulnerable people in court proceedings.
This included child victims and people with cognitive impairment and sexual assault survivors.
       Topics discussed included:
  • Closed court orders
  • suppression orders
  • non-publication orders
  • the protection of child offenders
  • the protection of child victims

In January, VOCAL made a written submission to the Parliamentary Inquiry into Coercive Control in Domestic Violence Relationships.
In March, VOCAL was invited to give evidence at the Parliamentary Hearing. A huge thank you to our supporters who provided us their lived experiences on this complex issue.
SISTERS IN LAW - Fighting for Change
The Sisters in Law Project was initiated by VOCAL Board Member Jane, who is bringing together stakeholders advocating for change in the areas of child protection and family violence.
Greens MP Abigail Boyd (center) and Labor MP Anna Watson (not pictured) attended a round table in March to learn about some of the issues in State and Federal responses to child safety and family violence.
