We would like to send a big THANK YOU to Patty Bottner for stepping up and making Falcon Follies a reality. Patty, along with Chris Pereira, Coretta Bennett, and Lei Zhang will organize a night full of fun and talent. If any one else is interested in helping with this Fulton Elementary tradition, please contact me. We will need plenty of help. The Falcon Follies will be held June 12, so mark your calendars! Think about your acts over spring break; more details will be sent home in Friday Folders after the break.

Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education

Please keep sending in your Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education. Labels for Education will be ending in July, so send in whatever you have now, so they can be redeemed. Drop boxes are available in the Fulton Elementary lobby.

PTA Volunteers Needed

The Fulton Elementary School PTA has committee chair spaces to fill. Won't you please consider filling a position for next year? The FES PTA needs volunteers for the following positions:
  • Boosterthon Chair/Committee: With the amazing success of this fundraiser last year, we will be doing it again this fall (October). The board will help the chair with this event. The person to fill this position should be very organized. The committee can be co-chaired.
  • Hospitality Committee: The last of event of the year will be the teacher luncheon on May 6. If you are interested, you can shadow Kristina Leary on this to learn the ropes.
  • Cultural Arts Committee: Book Cultural Arts events for our students during the year. You will work with the administration and teachers on what types of events to book.
  • Spirit Night/ Dine Out Night Committee: Book restaurants to eat at once a month.
  • Membership Committee: This is a VERY important role. You help recruit parents to join the PTA , keep track of membership, and list our membership in our own PRIVATE database. The Membership Chair should be computer savvy with this position.
  • Spirit Wear Committee: Shadow the current committee chair and learn the ropes.
Please consider being a PTA Board Member or volunteering for a committee. Contact Cindy Johnson, FES PTA President, with any questions or to volunteer.

Thank you for supporting the Fulton Elementary School PTA!

Future Lime Kiln Middle School Parents

Involvement matters! It’s that time of the year again, when we are looking for a slate of candidates to fill the 2015/16 LKMS PTA board. Get involved and run for a 2015/16 LKMS PTA leadership position! LKMS is looking for a few good men and women to serve in one of 25 executive board or committee chair positions. Like to have fun? Enjoy face-time with your student’s teachers and administration? Then we have the job for you! From drama and cultural arts, to movie nights and festivals, from staff appreciation and hospitality to fundraising, put your PAW print on LKMS and the 700 students and over 90 faculty and staff!

Why choose a leadership position? There are many reasons to lead, including being connected to your student’s (or students’) school—what better way to know what is going on, then through the PTA? Enjoy participating in the many fun programs put on by the PTA or create new ones!  We program cultural arts, move nights, festivals, monthly teacher appreciation/hospitality events, spirit wear, and drama! We also participate at the County and State levels on advocacy issues such as school funding and curriculum. But we cannot do any of this without parent volunteers!

Will you join us in our crusade to make the middle years a fun and enjoyable time? Will you help LKMS PTA parents speak out on what matters most to our school? Interested? Email Cindy Johnson, Dao Vissering, or Therese Werner to find out more.

Nominations will be collected through April 1, 2015.

Yearbook Photos Needed

The Fulton Elementary School PTA will be compiling photos for the student yearbook. If you have photos you’d like to share with us, please send them in an e-mail to photos@fespta.org. Please provide the names, grade, and teacher name, for all students pictured. If possible, please include the event name or description so that we can group the photos appropriately. If you have any questions, please contact Sherry Harms.
