SVA First Pitch | April 17 | UGA vs. Clemson

SVA First PitchCome enjoy a night at Foley Field as the SVA teams with your Georgia Bulldogs. The baseball team will be hosting the Clemson Tigers in a Tuesday night non-conference rivalry game. Our very own Kyle McReynolds (BBA and USAF veteran) will throw the ceremonial first pitch. Start time is 7:00 p.m.

This game is expected to sell out, so purchase your tickets now and enjoy a night at the ballpark.

Creature Comfort Internship:  

Intern will work with the Creature Comforts Brewing Company staff to develop a framework and baseline measurement of key sustainability metrics such as water and energy use, waste diversion, and carbon footprint. This internship is an opportunity to get involved in a rapidly expanding brand, to assess the needs and values of a young company, and to produce something that will materially impact Creature Comforts' internal culture and environmental effect.  
Candidates must be 21 years or older, possess strong communication and analytical skills, enjoy creating spreadsheets, be highly organized and motivated, have a general knowledge of mechanical systems and/or business processes, and a passion for sustainability. Graduate students preferred, but not required.

Upcoming Georgia Logistics Conference

The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s (GDED) annual Logistics Summit is being held April 9th – 11th, 2018 at the Georgia World Congress Center. 

This year GDED is adding a new component to the Summit in support of Georgia’s veterans and military community. The 2018 Veterans Initiative offers free Georgia Logistics Summit registration to a selected number of veterans and active duty personnel, paid for by corporate sponsors who have donated funds to cover the registration fees.  The grant funds will cover up to 100 veterans with free registration.  Any additional veterans and active duty military can attend the Summit at a half price discounted cost of $75.00.

Harvard Business School Summer Venture in Management

The Harvard Business School (HBS) Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) is a one-week management-training program for rising college seniors (who have completed their junior year of college by June 2018).  Founded over 30 years ago, this HBS tradition demonstrates the many rewards of an MBA degree to students who may not otherwise have considered this path. Participants spend a week on the Harvard campus living the MBA student experience – attending classes, analyzing case studies, and debating management issues with peers and faculty.

Student Veterans of America/Raytheon Scholarship

Student Veterans of America and Raytheon have partnered to provide two (2) $10,000 scholarships to student veterans (US Army only) demonstrating a commitment to and passion for their chosen field of study, as well as demonstrated leadership and engagement within their community. The application deadline is April 10th

Tate Student Center Operations Assistant Job Opening ($8.15/hour)

As the Operations Assistant, you will work in the Tate Student Center and be responsible for the general upkeep of Tate as well as managing the Dean of Students' vehicle fleet.

Summer Job/Internship Fair

The UGA Career Center is sponsoring a Summer Job and Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 21st, 11am-3pm, Tate Grand Hall. Over 110 employers will be there including Atlanta and Athens employers along with Resorts and Summer Camps. Log in for a complete listing of employer attendees.

UGA Summer Academy Needs Instructors

Summer Academy at UGA is a series of academic specialty summer camps.  Camps are designed for middle school and high school students who want to focus on specific academic topics, including STEM, Arts, and College Preparation Camps.

UGA still needs graduate and undergraduate student veterans to teach in its various specialty camps.

This year’s reception takes place on Thursday, April 26, 2:30-3:30 p.m. in Tate Grand Hall. Attire is business casual and families are welcome.
