The program, led by one of our transition coaches, immerses students into the fast-paced DC culture. The Washington Center Sponsored Programs: Another non-UGA sponsored summer internship option is hosted by The Washington Center (TWC). TWC is the largest academic internship program in the world with more than 50,000 students participating to date. Two examples of their offerings include:

New VA School Certifying Official:
Beginning 1 March, Skylar Devlin will be UGA’s new certifying official. Skylar is a UGA alum who is coming back to the university after working in Tennessee’s Technical College System as a VA certifying official. Starting next week, Skylar can be reached at Va@uga.edu or 706-542-1842.
SVA Meeting Next Week:
The SVA is having a meeting next Wednesday, 1 March, at 5:30 in the SVRC First Data Lounge (Rm 484). The SVA will be covering a variety of topics including ways for you to get involved! Dive the Georgia Aquarium:
In addition to the Georgia Aquarium’s Veterans Immersion Program, the aquarium sponsors a joint venture of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Life Waters organization twice a year (March & November) to bring veterans to either snorkel or scuba dive the aquarium.
The next trip is on Sunday March 26th and one slot remains unfilled. Though you must be a Scuba certified veteran, you do not have to be paralyzed to participate. For more information, contact Joseph Barr, who is one of our UGA graduate student veterans who is a certified diver and past participant.
