Leadership Opportunity:


The Vice President of Student Affairs is looking for a student veteran to sit on the Student Technology Fee Advisory Committee (STFAC).   The STFAC is a student advisory group which provides recommendations on funding to UGA’s Senior Leadership. This is a great opportunity for all majors, but particularly those pursuing a BBA. If interested, you must commit to attend the four scheduled meetings below:
  • Thursday, November 8, 2018 // 1:30-3:00pm, 369 MLC
  • Thursday, February 7, 2019 // 1:30-3:00pm, 369 MLC  
  • Thursday, March 7, 2019 // 1:30-3:00pm, 369 MLC 
  • Thursday, April 11, 2019 // 1:30-3:00pm, 369 MLC

Potential Deployment in Support of Hurricane Recovery Efforts: 


If as a National Guard or Reservist you get called up over the next few days remember to contact Student Care and Outreach (SCO).  The SCO staff will validate your absence and then work with you to coordinate that absence through your faculty.  You can reach the SCO team via:

Last Call Student Tour of Georgia:

During Spring Break, two dozen UGA students will travel across the state to engage with local communities and learn about state government while becoming familiar with the UGA’s many contributions to the region.
 
The Student Tour of Georgia is free for the students selected to participate! Program benefits include all expenses paid including meals, travel, and lodging for off-campus experiences.

We still have roughly 100 tickets left.  ticketsNOTE 1:  To receive tickets, students enrolled at the Athens campus must attend the Veterans Week Reception.
NOTE 2:   Students enrolled at other campuses (i.e. Buckhead, Gwinnett, Griffin, Tifton or online) contact me with mailing instructions.

Nov 8-12 // Veterans Tribute Flag Display:


flagsIn honor of Georgia’s over 700,000 living veterans, the Student Veterans Association will place 700 flags around the Memorial Garden on Nov 8th
  • If you are available to help place or pick up flags, please contact Andrew Dorminey.

Student Veterans Association (SVA) Nov 17 Tailgate:


The SVA is planning a tailgate for the Military Appreciation Game.  The catered tailgate will be in the Tate West Lawn near the flagpole. Time TBD.

  • Who: All student veterans interested jobs or internships with the USG
  • What: General discussion on the Federal hiring process
  • When/Where: Nov 15, 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM in the Career Center Conference Rm
  • Food: Free Chick-Fil-A biscuits

VETLANTA Q4 Summit on Oct 25th:
