Apply To Be a Pat Tillman Scholar:
Founded in 2008, the Tillman Scholars program supports our nation’s veterans by investing in their education. Since the program’s inception, the Foundation has named over 450 Tillman Scholars at more than 100 institutions nationwide including the University of Georgia. The scholarship covers educational expenses, including tuition and fees, books and living expenses. But scholars receive much more than just funding. The Tillman Scholar Program unites the best talent and leadership in the military to make a significant impact in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, technology, education and the arts. Is the Sales Profession Right for You?
For several years UGA has been recognized as one of the Top Universities for Professional Sales Education. On Saturday February 25 at 08:30AM, the annual Terry Sales Competition begins at Sanford Hall. Following the competition, finalists advance to the National Collegiate Sales Event where they will compete with their peers from across the nation.
In an effort to expose interested Student Veterans to the often misunderstood, but high-demand and well-paid sales profession, you are invited to monitor this year’s competition via closed circuit TV located in Sanford (Rooms 312-314). Stop by for the free breakfast at 07:30AM with round one beginning promptly at 08:30AM.
If you plan to attend, please let us know so we can inform the program coordinator.
Free Head Shots:
Beginning 15 February any student veteran enrolled in an advanced degree program at UGA who is scheduled to graduate in CY 2017 can get one free professional headshot through the UGA Card Office. Additionally any undergraduate student veteran, at any level (e.g. sophomore, junior senior), involved in the SVRC Readiness Program is also eligible for a free head shot.
- If you are an undergraduate and not currently involved in this program, you can still do so by clicking here to set up an initial meeting with a Readiness Coach.
- NOTE: To take advantage of this offer, visit the Card Office (Tate Rm 309) between Feb 15, 2017 – Apr 1, 2017. They have a list of all pre-qualified student veterans.
SVRC Conference Room:
We are working on a project to beautify the SVRC conference room and need your help!
We are making a picture collage of our student veterans highlighting their busy lives outside of the classroom. We’d love to showcase a picture of you with your families, doing your favorite hobbies, working your job or anything you do outside of school. Click here to submit a picture for the project.
Have you heard about the UGA Student Food Pantry?
UGA has recognized that not all students can meet their required daily food intake. In response the pantry, located on the first floor of Tate, provides non-perishable and refrigerated food items to students for free. The pantry serves over 100 students per day with no questions asked or strings attached.
Visitors only need to fill out a short, confidential form before picking up food.
Summer Food Scholarship:
Last day to apply for the Summer 2017 Meal Plan Scholarship is Monday Feb 13, 2017. To learn more or apply click here
