Free UGA vs. Charleston Southern Tickets

The UGA Athletic Association has donated more than 200 tickets to our student veterans and their families for the November 20 game vs. Charleston Southern. While we do not yet have the tickets, we expect to find these seats in Sections 602-604.

To receive tickets, you must do two things:

1. Register through the link below, and
2. Attend the Veterans Week Reception on Tuesday, November 9 from 4:30-5:20 p.m. in the Tate Student Center Grand Hall (5th Floor)

Autographed Football Items Drawing

This year, the UGA Athletic Association has provided the SVRC with four items signed by Head Coach Kirby Smart. The items (pictured above) include two autographed footballs and two pictures of Sanford Stadium for us to donate to our military-affiliated students.

We will distribute these items through a drawing at the Veterans Week Reception on November 9, 4:30-5:20 p.m. in Tate Grand Hall. You must be present to win.

As a reminder, if you submitted your photo for the Jumbotron, you are entered for the drawing. You can also be entered for the drawing by attending the Jimmy Blackmon Presentation/Book Event on Thursday, October 21 (see more information below).

Note: ALL currently enrolled (full-time and part-time) student veterans, reservists, National Guard, and active duty students may participate.
 

Jimmy Blackmon Presentation

We are honored to welcome business consultant, author and retired Army Colonel Jimmy Blackmon to UGA on Thursday, October 21, where he will spend a little time talking about battle-proven leadership and those special veterans responsible for shaping his thinking over the years. Jimmy and SVRC Director Jon Segars first met in college in the late 1980s and now have shared many of the same type experiences; sometimes together and often times worlds apart.

Jon shares, “In addition to being a great leader, Jimmy has always been a great storyteller, and you will not be disappointed in the time we will have together.”
