Spring Scholarship Update

Listed here are several important announcements regarding the SVRC spring scholarships. The first round has officially closed, and we will soon announce the results; during this round, there were 86 qualified applicants competing for a total of 45 awards. Should more funding become available in the future, we will open the application, again, for a second round of scholarships. If you applied but did not receive an award, your application will be automatically considered in the second round, and you will not be required to reapply. Nevertheless, if you did not apply during the first round, you will still be given the opportunity to apply for the second round.

Let All the Big Dawgs Eat Food Scholarship allows students to participate in the meal plan through the University’s award-winning Food Services department. Students have the option of dining with their peers in dining halls across campus when they choose, as frequently as they choose, seven days per week.
Applications for Summer close on March 4.  Applications for Fall open March 4 and close April 8. Learn more and apply here.

In addition, there are three more scholarships to apply for shared in this newsletter.

9/11 GI Bill Monthly Verification

If you are a recipient of 9/11 GI Bill benefits, you should have recently received an email which looks like this.

"Your enrollment for the month of January has been automatically verified. You will not receive a reminder or confirmation message regarding your January enrollment verification. Your Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or kicker payment will continue uninterrupted. You will still be expected to verify your monthly enrollment at the end of February 2022 as normal, even if you are only enrolled for a portion of the month.
Please note that:
·  Some students who opted into text verification in January had their confirmation texts blocked by their mobile carriers, but are still opted in.
·  While you previously received VA texts from an area code 202 number, you will start receiving texts from a new toll-free number, (855) 933-1416."
For more information on enrollment verification, including step-by-step instructions, a video walkthrough, and FAQs, explore the Enrollment Verification website.
