VetConnect Student Volunteers:

This proposed pilot program is designed to help ease the transition of new undergraduate student veterans transferring to UGA by connecting them to currently enrolled veterans who have similar backgrounds or academic interests. Our goal is to establish this informal buddy system about a week before the start of Fall 2019 classes.

This initiative would serve to complement our special orientation session for undergraduate veterans and our Transition Coaching Program, which connects our first-semester students to volunteer faculty/staff.  We envision that each student volunteer, would at a minimum, send a welcome e-mail and, if needed, help answer any questions.   To date, we have approximately 10 volunteers; we need at least 20.

Student Affairs Scholarship Opportunity:

Student Affairs is now offering the Dr. Dawn D. Bennett-Alexander Building Bridges Scholarship. This scholarship is open to anyone who is currently enrolled at UGA and has at least one full semester left prior to graduating.

The scholarship was established to help move the university and our society toward a better understanding of the many differences among people such as: race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, culture, disabilities, etc.

The deadline to apply is April 5th at 5:00 pm. If you are interested in this opportunity or would like more information, then click here.
Graduation Pictures with Hairy Dawg:

The bi-annual ‘Grad Pics with hairy Dawg’ event is just around the corner! This opportunity is open to ALL students who are going to be graduating that have already been accepted to graduate school OR have been hired by an employer.

Both opportunities will be located in the first-floor Tate Reception Hall.
