FAFSA Reminder:
FAFSA: Did you know 90% of our undergraduate student veterans have neither submitted nor updated a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? Most students believe their VA benefits disqualify them from additional Federal benefits; not true.
- The FAFSA is required to participate in three Federal programs (i.e. Pell Grants, Federal Loans, Federal Work Study {FWS}) and serves as a critical component to determine eligibility for other UGA awards, scholarships, and requests for Emergency Funds.
This year, in partnership with the Office of Financial Aid, we are trying to get more Student Veterans to submit/update their FAFSAs and, in turn, increase their access to relevant FWS positions. FWS is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and increasingly university work center opportunities can be tailored to support your developmental needs.
The 2019-2020 FAFSA deadline is June 30th. To apply click here. When you complete your FAFSA, please mark YES to question #31 “Are you interested in being considered for work-study?” For more information about the FWS program, please visit the Office of Student Financial Aid’s website.
