Branding; An Investment in Your Future:

Now that the first week of classes is in the books, I am sharing with you ways you can leverage our services to optimize your performance at UGA and beyond.

Over the past 2 years, we have helped nearly 100 student veterans translate their military service into relevant experiences, broaden their professional networks, and reshape their personal brands. It works; over 95% landed their desired job or gained entry to their preferred graduate school.

Working directly with one of our readiness coaches, you will develop high-quality resumes and networks that collectively posture you for success. In doing so, we work collaboratively across the university and with a number of non-profits across the nation.

It takes time to reset your brand and there will never be a better time than now to do it. To get started click here.

VME Internships for Veterans Pursuing Degrees in the Entertainment Industry:

Founded in 2012 as a grassroots movement, Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME) is a nonprofit comprised of over 3,000 U.S. military veterans working in, or aspiring to work in, film, television, theater, music, and gaming. VME helps student veterans find mentors and meaningful careers.
In the entertainment industry it’s a “who you know” business and, according to a recent LinkedIn Survey, up to 85% of jobs and internship positions are filled through personal connections, which puts military veterans at a distinct disadvantage.

VME's Internship Program is designed to help military veterans who are entering the entertainment industry accelerate their transition. It does this by placing them into a network and helping facilitate job and internship opportunities. These connections are both in Atlanta and LA.

If you are interested in working with VME to explore summer internships, contact soonest and we'll connect the dots.

Special Collections Oral Histories:

In partnership with the Special Collections Library, the SVRC continues to sponsor student veteran oral histories during the 2018-19 academic year. If you are interested in sharing your story with future generations, contact the SVRC to schedule a short interview.

Kate Dahlstrand, one of our graduate student veterans pursuing her Ph.D in History, facilitates the Q&A associated with these oral histories.

To date, nearly 30 student veterans have leaned forward to record their histories. To sign up click here.
