The most sincere joy comes from bringing joy to others.

In the past few months Holy Name of Jesus and Ascension Parishes have hosted Catholic Relief Services Helping Hands meal packaging events.  Holy Name packaged just over 100,000 meals for their second event and Ascension packaged over 20,000 meals. The beauty of this unique volunteer effort shares countless ways that we can make a true difference.

Meal packaging allows a community to come together, learn about our brothers and sisters living in the harshest conditions of poverty, literally touch the food that will save their lives, and through grant funds provided from the program, provide long term solutions to ending hunger for the people who are served.  Every event is full of music, laughter, children helping parents, grandparents serving with the youngest members of the church, it is a bonding experience like none other.

St Ann Parish in Debary is the next upcoming event in the Diocese of Orlando and there are other events throughout the state occurring through the Lenten season.

If you are interested in having an event in your school or parish community please contact Stephanie Bosse at mailto:stephanie.bosse@crs.orgor call 407-699-0727.
