Loaves & Fishes?  Heck No...Apples!!

Despite a Catholic upbringing, the details of the Bible, religious life, and Christian history largely escaped my attention and memory.  Well into adulthood, I couldn't really recite even the most basic Catholic lessons or Bible stories.  BUT, the one story that did garner my keen interest was, of course, the story of Jesus and the loaves and fishes.  The feeding miracle.  That story resonated deeply.  We're experiencing our own feeding miracle with two of our apple trees this year!

We have picked from these two trees more than a dozen times and they are still laden with apples.  Today Amy picked another 5 bushels and the trees are still speckled (no longer laden!) with fruit.  We're enjoying apple cider, dried apples, applesauce, fruit leather, all manner of apple desserts, and of course fresh-eating off the trees, and we still have many bushels of fruit awaiting our busy hands.  Maybe it doesn't count as miraculous, but it's a great joy to spread the bounty throughout the hilltowns!

Next week we'll be posting the menu for a wide variety of dishes to complement your Thanksgiving feast.  I'll post the menu early (Tuesday night or Wednesday morning), so you can place your orders early to ensure we'll be able to fill your order (first come, first served!).  You can count on us to ease the task load Thanksgiving week, so you can spend more time enjoying family, feast, and festivities!
