Once More With Feeling-- August 13-15, 2021 will be our festival's 10th anniversary. 10 years as a meeting place for readers, writers, and other professionals in the literary world. When Words Collide organizers are already at work planning chapter 10 of our festival, and hope to include a few special events to mark the occasion.

When Words Collide Online 2020
For those who participated, thank you for joining us for our pandemic relief online festival which was held over our regular festival weekend last August. Volunteers and presenters stepped up to offer over 100 sessions which drew over 5000 live views. If you missed us, we are busy uploading many of those sessions to our YouTube channel where they can still be viewed.

FYI the top 5 live-viewed sessions, all of which drew the maximum allowable attendance, were:
Fix that Manuscript! with Suzy Vadori
Ten Things I Wish I’d Known with Angela Ackerman, Mark Leslie Lefevre, Susan Calder, & Sarah Kades Graham
Turning Your Creative Goals into Reality in Today's 2020 with Suzy Vadori
Emotion in Fiction with Jonas Saul
Pace and Flow with Jonas Saul

When Words Collide 2021?
With no end in sight for the COVID-19 pandemic, will there be a festival in August 2021? YES, of course there will. At this time we are assuming that by next August it will be safe to go back in the water. If for some reason we are wrong, we will shift the entire festival online. The organizers  (and some of the presenters) learned a lot last month, and are confident such a measure is doable if needed. Either way, we are also planning to hold an online festival warm-up on Saturday Aug 7, 2021 where we will have some special online presentations and social events. So have no fear. There will be a 2021 festival.

If you would like to join our organizing committee, we would love to hear from you:
