(Thursday, Janaury 19, at our General Meeting in the Video Lab). Refreshments and socializing at 6:30 pm, followed by the program at 7. No charge. Open to all residents and their guests. Get your contest entry ready! The deadline for our 2016 Annual Short Video Contest is 4 pm Friday, January 27, in the Video Lab.  Entries must be member-produced, in DVD format (Blu-Ray is OK), and no more than 4 minutes long. The Contest Committee will select the top 10 entries to be shown at our 7th Annual "Academy Awards" Banquet Sunday, February 19, when attendees will vote to select the top three winners. Become a Shreditor: Learn to Capture Your Life with A Smartphone! NEW CLASS: There's still time to enroll in videographer Scott Marvel's new class where you'll learn to shoot, edit, and share videos using your Apple or Android smartphone. The two-session class starts this Monday, January 23. Pre-registration and some preparation required. “Multi-Camera PC Video Editing with Corel VideoStudio X9,” 1 session. NEW CLASS: If you own VideoStudio X9 or plan to buy it, this class is for you! Multi-editing is a powerful and useful new tool on X9,,not available on earlier versions. Among other features, it automatically syncs sound when a shoot was done with more than one camera. Use Video Lab PCs or bring your own laptop equipped with VideoStudio X9. “Introduction to Macintosh Video Editing with iMovie,” 3 sessions. NEW CLASS: The Video Club welcomes Certified Apple Instructor Rick Thues, who will teach a class covering the basics of gathering content, editing, and publishing in iMovie. for  users of the iMac desktop computer, MacBook laptop, iPad tablet, and iPhone. Use Video Lab Mac computers or bring your own laptop, iPad, or iPhone equipped with a recent version of iMovie. Pre-registration required.
