HELP WANTED ! !

Project Day To Study Contest Winners Monday
 
Here's a chance to “tune up” your Annual Short Video Contest entry. On Project Day, Monday, December 1, from 1-3 pm in the Video Lab, four members will show their winning 4-minute videos from past contests, followed by group analysis to identify factors which helped them win. The event is open free to the the public. Our next Project Day will be held Monday, February 2 (no meeting in January). 2014 Short Video Contest Deadline Is December 19
 
There's an entry box and registration sheet near the Video Lab entrance, and entries have started coming in for our Annual Short Video Contest. Work must be member-produced, 4 minutes or less, and submitted on DVD to the Video Lab by 4 pm Friday, December 19, 2014 (one entry per member). The top 10 entries will be presented at our Aanual Awards Banquet, Saturday, January 17, in CH7, when attendees will vote to select winners in three categories: Best Videography, Best Editing, and Best Picture. Save On Banquet Tickets Before December 20

Barbel Dagostino and  Gloria D'Simone-Shute are co-chairing our 2015 Awards Banquet (Saturday, January 17, 2015, in Clubhouse 7), and great plans are underway. Click here to download the banquet flier – and mail in your reservation before December 20 to save money. It's $20 per person before December 20, $25 after that date for a delicious meal catered by Martinez, the folks who served up the Thanksgiving feasts in our clubhouses this year.

Camcorder Instruction Planned for Studio Forum Friday, December 5
 
Dr. Tom Nash and Studio Coordinator Mike Ayotte will provide Studio Forum members with instruction on our new Canon Vixia HF G20 camcorder during the Friday, December 5 meeting, 10 am-noon, in the Video Studio. This camera was purchased for the club with 2014 GRF funds. The event is free and open to all residents interested in advanced video work. Subsequent Studio Forum meetings TBA. No Corel Forum in December

The Corel Forum will continue its introduction to Corel VideoStudio at the next meeting on Tuesday, Janaury 20, at 10 am in the Video Lab (no meeting in December). The Forum meets monthly on the third Tuesday and is open free to all residents.. Old Files To Be Removed from Lab Computers

Our PC video editing instructor Chuck Hale is working with Wolfgang Kutter, Tom Martin, and Charles Higginson to clean unwanted files off our Lab computers and to decide which programs to put on which machines. Part of this process will be removal of old data placed on machines by members and other residents.
 
The "Lab and Studio Policies" adopted by the Video Club Board of Directors on April 3, 2014, state: "Any personal files remaining inactive on Lab or Studio computers for longer than 6 months will be deleted."

Officers Elected, By-Laws Ratified
At the November 20 General Meeting, members ratified the revised Club By-Laws and elected the following officers for 2015: Steve Carman, President' Dr. Tom Nash, Vice President; Lisa Kirsoff, Secretary; and Bob Kulpa, Treasurer.
