REMINDER: Don't miss a chance to find out what’s ahead for Broadband Services and Village TV (VTV) when Chuck Holland (left), Village Management Services Information Technology Director, and Paul Ortiz (right), VTV’s General Manager, provide "A Look into the Future" at our next General Meeting, Thursday, June 15, in the Video Lab.

As the Internet and TV viewing increasingly converge with today’s new streaming options, many changes are underway in Village communications. Socializing and refreshments at 6:30 pm, program at 7 pm. REMINDER: the new Smartphone Video Production Group meets most Friday mornings from 9:30-11 am in the Video Studio, led by resident and professional videographer Scott Marvel. Emphasis is on developing talent and creating 30-second public service announcements (PSAs) for use on VillageTV. Open to all members, as well as residents and their guests. No charge. ANNOUNCEMENT: The Video One production team continues to meet twice monthly on the first and third Fridays from 1-3 pm in the Video Studio to plan and carry out advanced video projects requiring Studio equipment and production teamwork. The next Video One meeting is Friday, June 16.

JOIN VIDEO ONE! All skills are needed -- from before-the-camera talent to behind-the-camera producers, managers, and publicists -- as well as camera, audio, lighting, and switcher operators and video editors. The Video Club offers training in most of these skills. Examples of Video One projects may be seen on Channel 6 in the continuing "Laguna Woods Stories" profiles of interesting residents, produced by Dr. Tom Nash, and short "filler" videos of resident Sy Wellikson singing his hilarious song parodies about Village life, produced by Steve Carman.
