Watch Great Videos at Tomorrow's Short Film Showcase
Join us tomorrow (Monday, March 7) for our quarterly Short Film Showcase, now that we've resumed holding in-person meetings. Short Film Showcase #20, compiled by Stephanie Brasher, will be held at 1 pm in the Video Lab.
A selections of dramas, comedies, documentaries, and animations will be featured, chosen to entertain, inspire, and motivate your own video projects. Group discussion led by Dr. Tom Nash will follow each video. A special surprise for your munching pleasure -- no, not popcorn -- Cracker Jack!
The program is open without charge to all Village residents and their guests. Masks are required for those not vaccinated.
There's Still Time to Benefit from the Lighting Workshop
Three more weekly sessions remain in Dr. Tom Nash's new Cinematograpy Lighting Workshop -- Wednesdays, March 9, 16, and 23, at 10 am in the Video Studio. Tom is assisted by Jack Crawbuck and Fred Harshbarger in setting up real-life lighting assignments for the class.
Take advantage of the opportunity to learn from this experienced team in a "hands-on" environment. You will be surprised at how much better your photography/video will look when you apply basic lighting principles.
As Tom explains, "Cinematography has two main components – camera operation and lighting. The workshop emphasizes lighting more than camera operation because lighting is the more challenging skill. Today’s semi-automatic cameras can get a good image even if the operator is unskilled, but cameras cannot compensate for poor lighting."
$5 per session for members, payable in class (cash or check). An additional $15 one-time fee for non-members covers 2022 club membership. Masks are required for those not vaccinated. Click here to view and/or download the flier. For more information, contact Dr. Tom Nash, tomnash36@gmail.com.

NOTE: MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
As a follow-up to Dr. Tom Nash's new 6-session Cinematography Lighting Workshop which ends March 23, Tom will offer a new 4-session Cinematic Audio Workshop starting Wednesday, April 13, 10-11:30 am in the Video Studio.
