Join us Tomorrow for the Premiere of “Bowling Ball Debacle”!

“Bowling Ball Debacle,” the Video Club's fourth Short Dramatic Film, will have its first public showing at our monthly General Meeting, Thursday, March 16, in the Video Lab. Wine and cheese refreshments at 6:30 pm, program at 7 pm. Village residents and their guests are invited to attend without charge. (NOTE: Resident IDs are required at Gate 12.)

Gila Zalon and Tom Nash, the film's Director and Producer, will be interviewed about “Bowling Ball Debacle” tomorrow (March 16) on Village Television's “This Day” – live at 9 am, rebroadcast at 12:30 pm and 5 pm. The film's writer and star, former Village resident Jeanne Sanner (above), who now lives out of the area, is expected to attend the Premiere via Zoom.

Upcoming Video Club Classes

Saturdays, March 25 & April 1 – NEW CLASS: “Video Editing Principles
2 sessions. Instructor: Tom Nash. Regardless of the software or computer you use, understanding the basics of editing will help you get better, smoother edits. Knowing when to cut, when and how to use transitions, etc., will make a huge difference. Also, knowing editing principles will help you shoot video that can be smoothly edited. $10 for members, $25 for nonmembers (includes club membership). 10 am, Video Studio.
 

Saturdays, April 15, 22, 29 – CLASS: “Multi-Camera Studio Production
3 sessions. Instructor: Dr. Tom Nash. The Video Club produces several programs in our Studio. If you would like to help with these, or perhaps produce your own material, this class is for you.It’s fun, and you get the production done quickly and well. You will learn what each part of the team does and try your hand at several of the tasks. A very “hands-on” experience. $15 for members, $30 for non-members (includes club membership). 10-11:30 am, Video Studio.

Take Your Camera on A Shooting Expedition!Another in the Video Club's every-other-month Shooting Expeditions will be held Saturday, April 8, led by Tom Nash and Stephanie Brasher. Join others who have accepted this exciting challenge! You will meet in the Video Lab to review the day’s assignment, then go to a nearby location and shoot video, using any type of video or still camera or smartphone. Free to all Village residents and their guests. 1:30-4 pm Video Lab.

Learn Smartphone Video Techniques from Carmen Pacella at April 20 General Meeting

Our next General Meeting speaker will be Village resident and iPhone-ographer Carmen Pacella on Thursday, April 20, in the Video Lab. Refreshments and socializing at 6:30 pm, program at 7 pm. Village residents and their guests are invited to attend without charge.
 

Carmen, who has a long background in graphics, shoots and edits the Chicago Club travel videos seen on Village TV. His talk on “Necessity Is the Mother of Invention: Thinking Outside of the Box!” will include video clips and demonstration of his equipment.
