CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF
July 5, 1935 - August 3, 2019
Born on a farm in New Jersey, Joan moved to Los Angeles to start her International Flight Attendant career and married Nicholas Orlando. She and Nicholas had four children. While Joan raised her kids and traveled the world, she also started a business manufacturing rain hats and sold them at Virginia's Goilf Shop at Knott's Berry Farm. where they became iconic in Southern California in the 70s and 80s..
On April Fools Day, 1983, Joan brought home her beloved dog, Muffin, and her soon-to-be husband, Bob Kulpa, well known to Video Club members as our longtime Treasurer and Tuesday Video Lab Supervisor. They had met at a Parents without Partners social...and the rest of their love-story is history! They wed on July 18, 1987 and their adventures began. Joan and Bob blended their families and lived a beautiful life together in Huntington Beach, playing tennis, bridge, and golf. They adopted and trained guide dogs for the blind and worked toward retirement, which brought them the best adventures of all.
Joan and Bob's passion for travel took them all over the world, visiting all seven continents and 64 countries. They shared their love of travel with their family and completed a three-week adventure and safari to Africa just a few months ago.
Living at Laguna Woods Village, Joan was involved in just about everything, including Bridge Club, golf, and the Aquadettes. It was the perfect place for her to enjoy her golden years.
Joan's light and zest for life will be missed by so many! All who loved her will never forget her sass, charm, and love for adventure. Our thoughts and best wishes go out to Bob and her extended family.

A MESSAGE FROM
Club Member Suzanne Savlov
Producer of "Welcome to My Home" TV show
August 23, 2019
"I am interested in doing a show on Thanksgiving for my show “Welcome to My Home.” I need a few more people to do this show. My concept is to have people from the various regions and talk about their traditions and the foods they serve or their stories about Thanksgiving. I have a person from the east and one from the south. I can use a west and midwest person. Tom Nash has ancestors who were on the Mayflower so he can tell his story of his ancestors. ... If you know of someone or might be interested yourself let me know. Thanks and Take Care," Suzanne Savlov, firstname.lastname@example.org.
