The Park Bench eNews is published bi-weekly by the Rensselaer Technology Park Campus.The eNews features articles and press releases involving Park companies andorganizations, RPI in the news, special offers, invites and general information of interest to the Technology Park community.

                                    Recruiting at Rensselaer

As a valued member of the Rensselaer Technology Park Campus, you are cordially invited to utilize the RPI Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) for all of your hiring needs! 

With JobLink, our exclusive online recruiting system, you can post positions throughout the year, access online Resume Books, and schedule on-campus interviews and events.  These services are available to you at no charge!

RPI students use JobLink to search for full-time, co-op, summer internships, and also part-time work.   Co-op is defined as working full time for one semester, paired with a summer term, making it a six to eight month assignment.  Further information on co-op can be found at this link: http://rpi.edu/dept/cdc/students/experience/coop/index.html
Many companies use the co-op and internship program as early identification for potential full-time employment after graduation.        
To create an account, please do the following:

  1. Go to www.cdc.rpi.edu  Select the “Employers” link (top right)
  2. Scroll down to find the CCPD JobLink login portal
  3. Select “Register for an Account with RPI”

You will just need to fill in basic company and contact information.  Once the account is approved, you may log in as a Registered Employer and begin using JobLink immediately. For additional information about our services, please visit us at www.cdc.rpi.edu  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the CCPD at 518-276-6234.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the purpose of supporting the Healthy birth, growth and development (HBGD) initiative integration of multidisciplinary data to understand more fully the effects of risk factors on growth outcomes and to develop effective solutions that improve worldwide child health.

Chapel + Cultural Center To Host James and The Giant Peach

Description: The Terrace Theater Series at the Chapel + Cultural Center is pleased to present “James and the Giant Peach,” a musical showcase for children and “older children” based on the children’s novel by Roald Dahl and presented by the Troy Civic Theater. Join James on his wild and surreal cross-country adventure with six magically-altered garden bugs inside a giant peach.The performance will be presented on the terrace of the Chapel + Cultural Center. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Rain or Shine!

Rensselaer Ranks 8th in the Top Undergraduate Schools To Study Game Design and Animation in the U.S.

When it comes to great places to study game design, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Games and Simulation Arts and Sciences program keeps hitting the mark. The program is No. 8 on the Animation Career Review list of top game design programs in the United States. Rensselaer came in at No. 4 out of 25 programs offered among East Coast colleges and universities, and was recognized as No. 7 on the list for private schools and colleges.

“The Games and Simulations Arts and Sciences (GSAS) degree at Rensselaer provides an undergraduate experience like few others available anywhere in the country,” said Mary Simoni, dean of the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences. “Our programs are positioned at crossroads of humanistic inquiry and technological innovation."
