President's Message

Welcome to a new school year!

September 2020 will look different from any other school year we have experienced before. Despite the uncertainty in our world and our schools, rest assured that the Alberta Orff Chapter and Carl Orff Canada are here to support music and dance educators as they undertake new teaching situations. The Alberta Orff Chapter will continue to offer three workshops this year. We will confirm the pricing and format of this quality professional development two months prior to the offering. This year we will not have a subscription to our workshop season. For updated information, follow us on social media and check out our website

On behalf of the Alberta Orff Chapter Board and Carl Orff Canada, I wish you all a successful start to the school year! Please read on to learn all about the exciting ways that the Alberta Orff Chapter can support you this year!

Drum, Move, Play! with Sherryl Sewepagaham

For the past two months the Alberta Orff Chapter board has been preparing an exceptional resource with Sherryl Sewepagaham in partnership with the Winspear Centre. We have responded during these challenging times to bring you a high quality virtual fall workshop in response to Covid-19. Despite the production costs of this endeavor, we have deliberately made the workshop fee affordable for everyone ($25 member/ $30 non-member). Each purchase of the workshop is intended for one music teacher and their students. Please feel free to promote this workshop resource, but do not share it beyond your students. As arts educators, we want to ensure that our local artists and their creative property is respected. By purchasing your copy of the resource you are offsetting the production costs of this project.

Purchasing opens TODAY! Click HERE to purchase your copy of this amazing resource (videos, google slides presentation with suggestions for instrumentation, literature links and movement, pdf copies of all the songs, virtual Q and A with Sherryl!)
