Alberta Orff Chapter 2019-2020
Year In Review
It's great to look back on another fantastic year for the Alberta Orff Chapter! Thank you for your support by attending this year's events. We started the year with our free Taste Of Orff event with Diane Shieron, then a great Make & Donate event, as well as our two amazing workshops with Artie Almeida and Dawn Muir. Take a look back at these events through our blog posts below.
It was with great sadness, that Vision 2020, COC's National Conference was cancelled, due to COVID 19. We are grateful for Carl Orff Canada stepping up with many measures to continue building our community during this challenging time.
Online Resources from Carl Orff Canada

Due to COVID 19, Orff courses were cancelled across Canada, including here at the University of Alberta. Carl Orff Canada has compiled a list of Orff courses and workshops that will be held online during the summer of 2020. Check out this list: HERE.

To support music teachers across the country, Carl Orff Canada has created FREE online professional workshops to access digitally during these unprecedented times. Current COC members may access this professional development through the members only section of the COC website. Click HERE for the link for the COC home page.

Under the COC at Home link, you'll find the recordings and notes for the Doug Goodkin workshops that were held in May 2020, as well as short videos from Orff teachers across the country, including Edmonton's own Kim Friesen Wiens. Check back as more videos will be added to the site with topics ranging from movement, instrument techniques, recorder tips, resources in French and more.

Coming up in July, you'll find two NEW workshops featuring Bob deFrece in "A Taste of Orff" and James Jackson in "Discover, Explore and Create".
