2022 Fees and Charges

By now all 2022 parents should have received our update via MyMC around fees and charges for 2022. While the College is planning for a number of significant cost increases, we have made the decision to keep next years' fees at 2021 levels. Even so, we are looking forward to some exciting developments across our site as we begin some major refurbishments. While there is no general rebate for 2021 fees I encourage any family requiring financial hardship support to apply for assistance through our bursary program.

The Month of November
Traditionally in the Catholic Church, the month of November is a time when we pray for and reflect upon the lives of those who have died. All Saints Day and All Souls Day (1 and 2 November respectively) call us to remember those who lived lives that demonstrated the love of God by the ways in which they loved and committed themselves in service to others. In November, we also remember those who have moved us in a particular way, whether because we have personally known them or because they were inspiring role models on which to base our lives. Remembrance Day (11 November) is also a time to remember those who have died or suffered during times of war and conflict. As a College we marked Remembrance Day with a Liturgy as we gathered in the Quadrangle as a community.

Keeping in mind the ongoing suffering experienced by many in our world at this time, and those within our own families and school community who have lost a loved one, it can be hard to remain hopeful. Yet in his recent homily, Pope Francis offered us a reflection worth remembering. He said, "Hope does not disappoint," Romans 5:5. Hope attracts us and gives meaning to life … hope is a gift from God that draws us towards life, towards eternal joy. Hope is an anchor that we have on the other side.'

Lord God, we remember with love all those who have died…
We ask for the support of all your saints who by their persistence
and example have shown us how to live and love in Your ways.
Give us strength to cope with the daily routines that wear us down.
Help us to act as your witnesses when we respond to each other with love,
not with impatience, carelessness, rudeness or fear.
In your love, we can find our way forward into your promised heaven.

Faith Matters

Carolyn Young

Assistant Principal (Mission)
Last week the College community gathered to observe Remembrance Day. A prayer service was held in the Quadrangle that honoured those who have served in our armed forces and prayed for peace and in our world. This celebration was ably led by our Junior School Captains and our Junior School Faith and Service Captains for 2022. Congratulations to Daniel, Jack, Callum, Matthew and Samuel on successfully facilitating their first College event! Our service concluded with this prayer:
Loving God,
Help us also remember today and throughout each year
To be at peace with ourselves and accept others as God made them
May we practice patience, not impatience,
Encouragement, not ridicule,
Love, and not anger.
May we always remember that we are called to model our lives on your example of love and service,
And may this be obvious in our words and actions.
We make this prayer, through Christ our Lord, Amen.
If you are able to support our solidarity with the community of Pailin, Cambodia, who are supported by the Marists there who provide education and pastoral support, then please donate at this link before 1 December.

Further detail about Pailin and the Brothers’ work there is also available at that link. With thanks in anticipation.

As we all seek to navigate this post lockdown/pre Christmas time many of our young men are managing completing final assessments with a view towards their 2022 subjects and academic programs. Indeed, next year presents a time for us all to reset and start afresh. The article below is targeted at young people starting secondary school, however we know that many students are reorienting themselves with being at school every day. Hopefully, this article will provide some conversation starters for you over the holidays as parents/guardians discuss returning to school and goals for the new year with our young men.
