Spring Senior Executives Meeting Goes Virtual in May

This May, the ALDA Senior Executive Conference is going virtual. The focus and theme for the event is appropriately “Pandemics and Infectious Disease,” and ALDA members will convene to hear insights from experts, network, and discuss strategic implications for our member companies.
Registration information with final dates, times, and speakers will go out to members in February. We are planning to structure the event similarly to our fall conference, holding one session per week over the course of several weeks in May. We are finalizing speakers and topics and are very excited about the compelling narrative that will flow through the event. Current sessions and speakers include (but are not limited to):
  • Analytical Retrospective on COVID-19 and Infectious Disease. Presented by Dr. Pardis Sabeti with the Broad Institute, a professor in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Disease at the Harvard School of Public Health who led the original team that genetically sequenced the Ebola Virus and has been a leader in scientific breakthroughs aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19.
  • The Future of Vaccine Development. Attendees will hear from companies that developed approved vaccines, who will share their perspective on COVID vaccine acceleration and rollout and how ALDA members can continue to contribute to similar efforts moving forward.
  • The COVID-19 Vaccines: Implications for Other Infectious Diseases. Dr. Penny Heaton, CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute will discuss their collaborative efforts on battling infectious disease including tuberculosis & malaria and how the pandemic reaction and accelerated vaccine development will impact these efforts moving forward.
  • Policy Perspective: What did we learn regarding how various international governing bodies approached this pandemic? How did they engage industry, and how can we position ourselves for better collaboration and communication in the future?
  • CEO Roundtable: What does this all mean for the ALDA community? What has our industry learned and how can we build on these lessons moving forward? A panel of prominent industry CEOs will answer these and other relevant questions, as determined by attendees.
