Hello Everyone,

I hope you've enjoyed our fantastic October, as we now enter the traditional rainy season and move our clocks back to Standard Time this weekend. If it weren't for the football and hockey happening, I'd be a little depressed about the darker, shorter and wetter days ahead. However, we do have Black Friday and the impending Christmas season to look forward to.

This month's newsletter will focus on the Optimize Investments aspect of our Successful Retirement Solution (SRS). We have an investment philosophy which we call our Successful Investing Solution (SIS), encompassing 4 components as depicted by the SIS pyramid. The Good Night's Sleep component will be our highlight this month.

Evidence Based Investing – globally diversified, balanced portfolio structured to reduce expenses, turnover, and minimize tax, but should grow with the market. We partner with Dimensional Fund Advisors for this component.

Relative Strength – a tactical asset allocation portfolio which uses a rules-based approach to objectively assess opportunities and threats in the market. We partner with Bank of Montreal’s Global Asset Management for this component.

GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP

Good Night's Sleep investments are Fixed Income instruments that pay an income on a regular basis. They are much less volatile than equities (stocks) and so will decline much less than equities during a market downturn. Click here for a video that explains what Fixed Income instruments are.
