November 2016 Newsletter
Our GRAND OPENING is this month! We can't believe November 12th is this week!
Work Day
We would like to thank all of the 60+ wonderful volunteers that came out and provided their service on the 22nd of October. We made tremendous progress in getting the house ready for the opening. We were able to unload all the furniture, clean out bedrooms and bathrooms, sweep driveways, and do yard work!

We would also like to Thank Global Shop Solutions, Inc., and Sam Houston's Pay It Forward for all their help on Saturday, November 5th! The house looked completely different at the end of the day, we are so grateful! The house no longer felt like a giant constrcution site, but like a home. This was all due to the hard work our amazing volunteers put in!

Open House!

Given that Pokemon Go is the latest fad across the nation, our Open House theme is going to be Pokemon Go HOPE.  Our Open House will feature an interactive, self-guided tour that will allow you to catch pokemon at "Pokestops" throughout the house. Pikachu will also be making a special appearance!

Contractors, Donors, Sponsors, and their families are invited to a Pre-Open House brunch in your honor on Saturday, November 12th @ 10:30 am.

The Community is invited to join in on the all of the fun activity beginning @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Hope's Path is located at:

The race will take place on November 19th in New Braunfels and is known as the prettiest race in Texas! For more information, go to http://newbraunfels.chosenevents.org.

They Don't Know the Life of a Foster Child
by Sophia Williams-Baugh

"I had to motivate myself to do the right thing and stay on the right path in foster care. I believed that life could get better if I just kept going. I knew I wanted more out of life than what I had been handed and I was going to do whatever I had to do to make it. Thinking about my hardships being temporary gave me strength to keep going no matter what. Now at 28, I am married with three kids and own a home.I’m a published author of an auto-biography, “I’m Good,” which talks about my life and thoughts growing up in foster care and my broken adoption. I’m a nonprofit business owner whose organization – Can We Talk Inc. — encourages storytelling as a way of healing, learning and growing. I certainly created a new example of what a foster child can accomplish and removed the stigma placed upon us."
