Stables lane Improvement Project Update
Work continues on the future of Stables Lane, on how to improve this important area as a community resource. The project team have agreed the following vision statement to help guide their work
Stables Lane Vision
'To create a community recreational space that supports and promotes health, wellbeing and social interaction'.
The project team recognises that any future plans must be:
• aligned with the Neighbourhood Plan
• offering something for all age groups and abilities
• part of the community and people friendly village
• more accessible by improving cycle and pedestrian access
• providing a range of equipment and facilities to encourage health, wellbeing and social interaction
• an evolving development open to continued long term improvement
• in line with Leeds CC and national planning policies
We remain very interested in gathering new ideas and any general comments that people may have about this opportunity to improve the Stables Lane green space.
Why not email our clerk, Val Hunter email@example.com or use the Message Board on the PC website and let us know what you think?
Car Parking in Our Village
Some people think we have too few car parking spaces in in our village others are not sure where they can park and for how long, so we hope you find the following information useful.
Stables Lane car park has 53 spaces available with no time restriction. This area will soon benefit from increased lighting during darkness hours. Since Kier moved out many spaces here have been freed up during the day.
Millennium Gardens car park (centre of the village) this has 44 spaces and is restricted to a maximum stay of 2 hour’s. So is ideal for a quick pop to the shops or even time for a coffee and catch up with friends in any of our delightful cafes or bars on the High Street.
Church Fields car park (next to St Mary’s Church) has 44 spaces again with all day parking available, in addition it has 22 overflow spaces, the barrier for this is controlled by St Mary’s Church and is used primarily when they have a large event on at the church.
Village Hall This car park is reserved for visitors using the Village Hall only and as such it is not a public car park.
Between the junctions of Clifford Road and Westwood Way on our High Street there is road side parking for 94 cars. This gives us a grand total of 257 spaces available.
Boston Spa Tennis Club
The tennis club is on Stables Lane playing fields. It has 4 excellent all weather courts including three with floodlights plus a clubhouse and onsite parking. New players of any standard are very welcome to come along and join us, whether for social games, team matches or coaching led by Angela Crossley – LTA Club Coach of the Year 2014.
With over 200 members we are a wonderful venue for tennis. Annual membership for adults is £93, juniors £33 and under 8’s only £16. Great value when you can play all the year round. You could also try our Great British Tennis Weekend event on Sat 19th March 10am until 12 noon when our coaches will be on hand to give you a free go – open to all.
Have a look at our website www.bostonspatennis.co.uk or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.

The trees have now been planted in front of Costcutter, further work is planned to remove the concrete bollards and to add a bench.
