LEO Limerick are inviting Expressions of Interest for the Lean Business Programme 2019
 

Could your business benefit from learning simple ways to save production time, improve on efficiencies, boost productivity and reduce stress?

Then you should consider participating on the LEAN for Micro Programme 2019

What is LEAN?

LEAN is about being effective and efficient - doing things quicker, better and cheaper. LEAN strives to stamp out waste and to continually improve. LEAN tools and techniques are helping companies across all sectors and all sections from e.g production, business processes but also sales and financial strategy. It is NOT just for manufacturing businesses!
 

What does the programme involve?

The programme will consist of workshop training offsite to be delivered over 1 full day at the commencement of the programme and another half day at the end (date TBC).

It is a requirement for the Business Owner/s to attend on these days.  Another key person involved in the business and project may also attend.

The workshop training will cover:

  • Introduction, overview and benefits of lean principles

  • Lean tools and techniques and how they relate to your business

  • Road map for lean in your business

  • Understanding the nature and scope of lean projects

  • Project selection and scoping for your business

    In-company lean assignment:

    Participants will receive seven on-site support visits from an Enterprise Ireland approved mentor over a 12 week period.

    This programme is highly subsidised at a cost of €300 per business participating (payable online when you are accepted onto the programme) and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis to qualifying businesses.

  • Business current account profile, monthly turnover, peak and troughs match to management accounts?
  •  Business credit history (ICB and central credit register) as past performance can indicate future risk
  • Competition and peer analysis (compare gross and net margins, wages as a % of sales, price and USP)
  • Relevant management experience in the sector
  •  Product or service offered and market for same
  • Outline of the credit market in Ireland including the range and type of finance providers (including alternate finance providers) and outlining their credit appetite and cost
  • Tips and strategies for getting you or your business ‘finance ready’
  • Strategies for dealing with and addressing either poor credit history or personal credit legacy issues
  • Business plan for business vs. business plan for finance – key differences
  • Key financial indicators required for projections and cashflows
  • Working capital & cashflow workshop – linking cashflow to credible assumptions
  • Case studies & examples
  • Templates for participants for finance applications

The ‘Technical Assistance for Micro Exporters’ grant is available through all Local Enterprise Offices to help more small businesses in Ireland develop products and services that will unlock export markets.

This grant can cover up to 50% of qualifying expenditure, up to a maximum of €2,500 (excluding VAT).
The grant is designed to help micro enterprises explore, develop and unlock new overseas markets for their products and services, within Europe and beyond.


This grant can help part-fund the costs of:

- Attending international Trade Fairs and renting exhibition space to meet potential customers face-to-face.
- Developing export-focused websites and marketing materials and the translation of these materials into foreign languages, to communicate directly with new target audiences overseas.
- Investigating new ways and processes to develop export business, such as setting up a new business model or fulfilling non-regulatory technical requirements.
