Annual General Meeting (AGM) Wednesday, April 24th

R.A.Steen Community Center
980 Palmerston Ave.
6 pm to 9 pm

The AGM celebrates the accomplishments of the Chapter in the past year, to hold Board elections and to recognise Chapter volunteers. Come out and meet new members and visit with old friends!

Why come to the AGM? The Annual General Meeting has several important functions:
  • Members receive reports from the Board, Chapter Committee Chairpersons and Chapter staff. This is the best time to see what our committees have accomplished over the past year and learn what their goals are for 2019!
  • The 2018 financial statement, a financial summary and the 2019 budget will be put forth to the membership for approval.
  • Report from the CHS-MB Member Satisfaction Survey with the Manitoba Bleeding Disorders Program
  • Report from the CHS Advocacy Workshop
  • Participate in the future of the organization by voting for the Board Executive and Board Directors. Maybe this is the year you choose to run for a Directorship?

CHS-MC Board Elections

The CHS-MC Board wants to be representative of all the different types of members that we serve. We are currently looking for representation from Chapter families with children in the pediatric program, members with Von Willebrand Disease and women with inherited bleeding disorders.
CHS-MC is a grass-roots, volunteer run organization. We rely on volunteers to sit on the Board of Directors as well as the Chapter’s committees. Have you ever thought to run for a position? There have been some changes to how the Chapter operates as a result of our move to a virtual office. The 2019 Board Volunteer Job Descriptions reflect those changes. If you have any questions contact the office and we’ll put you in touch with Nomination Committee Chair, John Rogasky.
Nominations & Proxies
Nominations must be into the office by April 10th. Please download a 2019 CHS-MC Board Election Nomination Form and have it sent into the Chapter office by April 10th. If you would like us to mail a form to you, please contact the office.
Proxy forms must be into the office by Wednesday, April 17th. Please download a 2019 Election Proxy Form and have it into the office by April 17th. If you would like us to mail a form to you, please contact the office.

Family Camp Registration

2019 CHS-MC Family Camp will be held from July 14th to the 20th at Luther Village, near Kenora Ontario. Family Camp is a wonderful opportunity for families to share their experiences raising children with inherited bleeding disorders.
Individualized education for families embarking on home care and self-infusion are offered. Group education for kids with their peers will be held. Don’t forget about frog hunting!
If you have any questions about camp or concerns about transportation, please contact the Chapter office. We'll do our best to help you!
Registration opens Monday April 8th at 9:15 am. For all the information, please visit

CHS-MC Corporate Award awarded to: A company in recognition of their outstanding corporate support of the bleeding disorders community. Erica Instance from Gordon Food Service
Erica Instance has become an integral part of the CHS-MC Gala Dinner and we consider her to be a member of the Gala Committee. Erica became associated with the Gala through her work with Gordon Food Service. Erica’s magic results in several thousand dollars of increased profit from the Gala every year that she works with us. Her contributions go far beyond sourcing ingredients, as she is engaged with the chefs and the Chapter representatives from the beginning of menu and event planning up to and including the night of the event. CHS-MC receives consistently positive feedback from our chef teams regarding her helpfulness, responsiveness, and quality of product. Thank you Erica! We couldn’t ask for a better person to work with.
