Hemophilia Research Million Dollar Club

The Manitoba Chapter has a proud history with the Hemophilia Research Million Dollar Club. Not only does the Chapter own voting certificates, but many of our members have also invested in the dream of a cure. We have posted images of the certificates the Chapter has purchased. Many of the certificates are in honour of our outstanding members, healthcare professionals and staff. HRMDC Certificates

CHS-MC Volunteer Committee Needs You

The volunteer committee was started in 2008.  A Volunteer handbook, job descriptions, program guidelines and the volunteer recognition program are complete! The ground work has been done to develop the CHS-MC program and the running of the committee is much less time consuming and much more structured. Now, we need new people and new ideas to assist with maintaining the program and the events this committee looks after. With only 3-4 meetings per year and about the same number of events that the committee supports, it would not be too overwhelming to join now. This could be an excellent volunteering opportunity for a student or a senior.
The committee has gone from 5 members to 2 and we are hopeful that someone from our amazing hemophilia family will step forward to help continue to build our volunteer capacity. Kathy Cameron, Chair and Bruce Cameron have been on the committee from the initial planning stages and they are able to guide and support new members. (Kathy makes some pretty good scones and cookies for meetings!)
The Volunteer Committee Member job description, the Committee Chair job description and more are available at Volunteer Committee.  If you would like to speak Kathy Cameron or Christine about this volunteer opportunity, please contact the office.

Stronger Together!

Working Towards the Global Goal of Eliminating Viral Hepatitis by 2030

The Canadian Hemophilia Society, Manitoba Chapter (CHS-MC) is excited to announce that we have invited our friends from the Canadian Liver Foundation - Manitoba Region (CLF-MR) to join us this year. We are holding the golf tournament in partnership to raise awareness that viral hepatitis is one of the leading causes of death globally, accounting for 1.34 million deaths per year – that’s more than HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis or malaria. Together, hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C cause two in every three liver cancer deaths across the world.

Proceeds from the Golf Tournament help CHS-MC and CLF-MR provide education, services, support and advocacy for our members living with hepatitis, liver disease and bleeding disorders. We hope that you will consider joining us!

At the time of registration, golfers can allocate their participation to the either CHS-MC, CLF-MR, or both!
