Falcon Food Pantry Donations Welcome

UM Counseling Services invites you to support the Falcon Food Pantry now through Dec. 13 in Farmer Hall. What do you need to do to support?

  1. Look for the tree next to our shopping cart.
  2. Select an ornament off the tree.
  3. Purchase the non-perishable item listed on your ornament. The quantity is up to you.
  4. Bring your donation and ornament to Counseling Services by Friday, Dec. 13.

Counseling Services is located in the lower part of Main Hall. Call 205-665-6245 if additional information is needed. All donations benefit UM students.


Library Hours for Finals Week Fall 2019

  • Saturday, Dec. 7: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 8 through Wednesday, Dec. 11: 24-hour library. Note: The Library will open at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 and will remain open until 2 a.m. in the early morning hours of Thursday. From 2 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., only the ground floor will be open strictly as a study space with the EBSCO Room available as a quiet room. A member of the UM Police Department will be present in the library overnight to ensure student safety.
  • Thursday, Dec. 12: 7:30 a.m. to midnight
  • Friday, Dec. 13: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15: Closed


A Montevallo Choral Christmas

Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m., in the Lucille Ryals Thompson Colonial Chapel of the American Village

Immerse yourself in the warm sound of sacred and secular Christmas music, performed by the acclaimed University of Montevallo Concert Choir and University Chorus. Set within the austere beauty of a Colonial Chapel, this evening of traditional arrangements is the perfect way to recall the charm and true magic of the holiday season.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at or at the door as available (cash or checks only). $10 general public, $5 UM faculty/staff/students.


Student Composers’ Concert

Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m., in LeBaron Recital Hall

Students from Dr. Jody Landers’ MUS 420 composition class will present their final projects in a recital.


City of Montevallo Christmas Parade

Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., on Main Street

Join the city of Montevallo Thursday, Dec. 5, for the most magical night of the year.

The tree lighting and announcement of winners from Montevallo Main Street’s window decorating contests will happen in front of the post office at 5:30 p.m., followed by the annual Christmas parade on Main Street at 6 p.m.

Any groups wishing to participate in the parade must register with the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce by Monday, Nov. 25.

Wind Ensemble

Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., in Palmer Auditorium

The Wind Ensemble, of both music majors and non-major band members, under the direction of Dr. Joe Ardovino, will again delight audiences with selections from the classic wind band repertory, contemporary works and holiday selections.


Community School of Music Honors Recital

Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., in LeBaron Recital Hall

CSM Honors recital showcases the talents of accomplished musicians from the UM Community School of Music.

Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m., in LeBaron Recital Hall

CSM Recital exhibits the accomplishments and talents of UM Community School of Music students.

Student Highlights

The Gulf South Conference recognized two UM volleyball student-athletes for their outstanding performances throughout the 2019 season. Senior Brioni Dixon has been named first team All-GSC and sophomore Savannah Roys has been named second team All-GSC.
