University to Host Free Day of Family Fun with Multiple Events Oct. 28

On Oct. 28, the University of Montevallo will host several free events for guests and their families to enjoy.

The annual UM Ghost Walk will allow guests to stroll through some of campus’ most thrilling, chilling historical moments.

The free, all-ages event sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs, Carmichael Library and The Alabamian, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., directly after the conclusion of the Montevallo Artwalk.

Tours will begin at Palmer Hall, with ghostly guides leading guests through the spine-tingling haunted history of Reynolds Hall, Main Hall, King House and King Cemetery. Those with a hunger for more ghostly tales and the history behind the stories will have the chance to visit Carmichael Library and pick the brain of UM Archivist Carey Heatherly.

While waiting for the tours to begin, consider dropping by the Montevallo High School parking lot for the Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow Trunk or Treat event from 6 to 9 p.m.
