UM Bass Fishing Team Continues Success

The University’s bass fishing team has been named one of the top teams in the nation by Bass Pro Shops, continuing its run as one of the most successful collegiate teams over the past several years.

UM placed second on the 2020 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year list following the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season, marking the team’s highest-ever rank on the list. This spring, the team posted an overall 3.0 GPA.

In the past year, the team has been crowned champions at the 2020 Alabama Bass Nation College State Championship, the 2019 FLW Southern Conference Championship and the 2019 Alabama Bass Nation College State Championship. The team placed third in the 2020 Bass Pro Shops Collegiate Bass Lunker Challenge, placed fourth in the 2019 FLW National Championship and placed sixth in the 2019 Bass Pro Shops National Rankings. City of Montevallo Mask Resolution

On June 22, the Montevallo City Council passed a resolution requiring individuals in the city, including the UM campus, to wear a face mask in public indoor spaces and in outdoor spaces where 10 or more people are within 6 feet of each other. The requirements will be in effect until further notice.

According to the resolution, face masks will not be required outdoors if there are fewer than 10 people gathered 6 feet apart, in vehicles, when working alone in separate office spaces, when exercising alone outside or when eating or drinking.

The University supports the city’s efforts to provide a safe and healthy environment for all of us. The full text of the city’s resolution can be found here.

Data security has become even more important during the current situation. To handle forms electronically, UM has been using Dynamic Forms since 2017, which has been vetted for security and ADA compliance. This application provides a simple way for non-technical users to take simple or complex forms and build an electronic version. Features include capturing signatures, workflows, approvals and many others. Join one of the live sessions to discover the ways Dynamic Forms can benefit your department. IS&T will host sessions Tuesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Questions or concerns regarding Dynamic Forms can be directed to UM Web Applications Administrator Gabriel Martires.
