City Bus Service Ending
The City of Montevallo and the Birmingham-Jefferson Transit Authority have enjoyed partnering together for the MAX pilot program, providing transportation service within the city, free of charge over the past several months. Unfortunately, on Feb. 4, the bus service will come to an end.
The service was a test program to evaluate the need for local public transportation. While the City has identified that the citizens of Montevallo do need public transportation, they have determined that there is a need for a more cost-effective option that is available across more areas of the city with less travel time.
In order to identify this option, the City is asking for your input. Please take the online survey about your experience with transportation in Montevallo. Paper copies of the survey are available at City Hall and Parnell Memorial Library.
The ultimate goal is to provide the community with a mode of public transportation that is safe, convenient, dependable, responsive and affordable.
